Named Variety & Collectors Snowdrops

Snowdrops add a glorious touch of spring hope to the garden. We stock both common single and double snowdrops and special named varieties, for novice and experienced growers alike.

Snowdrops are best sold ‘in the green’, which means any time they have green leaves. This is usually December through to February and it is then that you will find them at the nursery. We sell both common single (Galanthus nivalis) and double (Galanthus nivalis ‘Flore Pleno’) snowdrops in small quantities, from plants grown in raised beds on the nursery.

Over the last few years we have started to propagate a range of special named variety snowdrops. Our list is rapidly increasing, but the production process can take 4 years, so it can take a while for bulbs to become available.

Visit the nursery, email or phone us to see what we have in stock.

Snowdrops like to grow in well-drained soil that is rich in organic matter, like leafmould. The bulbs do not like drying out completely during the summer and making sure the soil has plenty of organic matter in it helps prevent this.
